As my 21st birthday is getting closer I wanted to reflect on my life so far and share 21 things I’m thankful for.
Life. Yes that sounds cheesy but not everyone is granted a life. We don’t know how long we have so I live by the motto ‘live everyday as your last’. I have a lovely life that I have learnt a lot from and I can’t wait to see what it holds for me in the future.
Family. My family are amazing! I often don’t tell them but they are amazing. They’ve been there for me through some hard times and although we fight and argue deep down we love each other soooo much!
Friends. I’ve always struggled with friends but going to uni is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I have made some amazing friends who I hope will be here for the rest of my life. So far we’ve made some pretty amazing memories from fright nights to supporting each other through the hard times. Thank You guys I love you all!
My blogging gals! I have made so many amazing friends through blogging and they have literally opened another door within my life. I have learnt so much from them and I am so grateful for their friendships.
The hard times! Without the hard times there wouldn’t be the good times. As much as in the moment, the hard times are awful they have taught me so much. I am the person I am today because of these hard times.
A roof over my head. No matter what life throws at me I’ve always had a roof over my head. Which I am so grateful for because I know not everyone is as lucky as me to have this basic amenity.
To be at university. If you’d of told me 7 years ago I would go to university in the future I’d of laughed. I didn’t think that would even be possible. I wasn’t meant to pass my GCSE’s never mind be starting my 3rd year of university.
My pets. They have taught me so much. From how to love someone unconditionally to learning to grieve. My pets past and present have all taught me something and they become a part of my life and always will be.
Luck. Now I believe everything happens for a reason but I know I haven’t had a hard life. I’ve always had food to eat and the basic necessities which I know others don’t. For this I am grateful for as I know my life would of been different otherwise.
My boyfriend. Now don’t get all big headed from this Matt. But, I am grateful for you! You came into my life at a hard time and you’ve taught me so much. I’ve learnt to love and share my life with you and through that we’ve had so many amazing times. Thank You!
This one sounds a little stupid but I’m grateful for Netflix. I’m not sure what I would do without it! I love watching tv series and films in my spare time.
My flat. I have been living in my flat for over a year now and it is a lovely little flat. It’s a perfect location for university and it has allowed me to grow as a person.
Jobs. I mean I’ve had two jobs these past two years but I have learnt a lot from them both. I have 100% had to grow up as person and learn about being an adult and managing money.
Being me. Now I cannot imagine being anyone else. As cheesy as it sounds I have loved my life so far.
This one isn’t as sensible as the rest but I am thankful for Primark. For being there for all my needs and providing me with affordable clothes.
I am grateful fro the invention of cake as a self-proclaimed cake connoisseur I don’t know what I’d do without my beloved cake.
I’m so thankful to own a mac book air. It is my best friend. It comes everywhere with me and I literally do everything on it. It was a present as I could not afford one myself but I love it so much.
My Birthday. Yes I’m turning 21 and the reality is setting in that I’m becoming an adult. But every year I get to celebrate a birthday means so much to me. I know others that don’t get to and I’m so thankful that I get the opportunity to do so.
Louise, one of my closest university friends. I have learnt so much from her! She has been there for me through the hard times but also the good and we went and got tattoos together which was a crazy spur of the moment thing. But thats why I’m so thankful for her because she goes along with my crazy ideas.
My cameras. I have a horrible memory. I struggle to remember events and things after a couple of years. I love having photographs to look back at and it’s something I still do. I also have a scrapbook with all of my favourite memories to look back on.
My auntie Katie. She taught me so much in her lifetime from how to love and taught me my passion for dance. Every year that I celebrate and she isn’t here is hard but I know that she will be looking down on me proud of the person I have become.
What are you grateful for?
