Is it a trip to Disney if you don’t meet any characters? One of the main goals for my trips is to meet as many characters as I possibly can. This normally requires a lot of pre-planning to ensure I meet everyone I want. This trip was no different, I met some classic characters (Mickey and Minnie) but also some special characters (Captain America and The Incredibles). Firstly, not all meet and greets are the same, Disney are introducing more impromptu meet and greets within the park as well as booked slots. Due to this, it is hard to not meet any characters at all as you cannot help but bump into impromptu meet ups.
As part of our Marvel package we got to meet a random Marvel Character who was at our meal and Spiderman. We had prepared ourself to meet only one character but in fact we got to meet three! We met Captain America, Black Widow and Thor. I was a complete wreck as Captain America is just amazing my mum actually caught it on my vlog which is probably very embarrassing but I was in the moment.
Not only, did we meet three marvel characters at our meal but we also got a special meet and greet with none other than the man himself Spider Man! We were given a secret location within Disney Studios to go and show our pass which would allow us to enter our meet and greet. This was the BEST meet and greet I have ever encountered. There was no queue and we spent a good 10 minutes with Spider Man talking, taking pictures and having fun. For me this meet and greet was what every meet and greet should be like. We didn’t feel rushed at all, we all came out and said how amazing it was.
No trip is complete without seeing Mickey Mouse. So, of course I had to match my outfit with him by wearing my Primark Mickey top. This character meet was brilliant the staff went above and beyond. As a large group of 6 people it can get quite crowded at characters meet and greet in small rooms. But, the photographer made sure we all got the photos we wanted. Of course, I wanted the classic kissing Mickey shot that has become a tradition every time I visit Disneyland Paris.
The only downside to some of the meet and greets is that there isn’t a professional photographer. This wasn’t a problem for us as I had my boyfriend who is a keen photographer waiting to snap away for me. One of my favourite photos is this candid photo Matt took whilst I met Donald. I was 100% in the moment hugging Donald.
With the Incredibles 2 coming out, Disneyland Pairs had a special meet and greet. Disney are using a new booking system through an app for meet and greets within Disney Studios. This meet and greet allowed more time with the characters as you had a booked slot. Meaning we could interact with them such as comparing our muscles with Mr Incredible which let me say I did not win.
Matt was most excited for this meet and greet to the point where he requested he went first to meet him so he could have a picture on his own. Buzz also took the time to pose in many different ways with us and even challenged Matt.
I had an amazing time at Disneyland Paris and the meet and greets we encountered with characters were amazing. If you would like to see more Disney photos check out my instagram HERE.
