I can’t quite believe I’m writing this. The fact that it is 2019 I still can’t get my head around. 2018 was a year of learning and development for me. I certainly hope this year will bring happiness and health and maybe a bit more positivity than last year! But, I’ve learnt I have control of what 2019 will be to some extent. This year there is no new year new me! I have set some simple, achievable goals but important ones at that.
Before, I get onto what I would like to achieve in 2019 I thought I’d look back at last year’s post outlining my goals for 2018. So, buckle up because you are in for one heck of a ride!
Goal One was to upload regularly in 2018. Well we all know that did not happen! I took way too many breaks my upload schedule was here, there and everywhere. So, sorry past Brooke I failed you.
One goal I did manage to complete was to take part in more chats. 2018 was the year I engaged in so many twitter chats from Influencer RT to bee chat I tried every week to participate in at least one. This year I would certainly like to continue this!
Going into 2018 I was introduced to DA. I was clueless and still aren’t 100% sure what to do to increase it but I have! At the beginning of 2018 I started with a DA score of 1 and I left 2018 on 19. I don’t want to brag but I’m pretty proud of that achievement and I really want to push myself to get up to 25 in 2019.
A big part of blogging is photography. Something I like to think I’m good at but in reality I’m more of a point and shoot kind of gal when it comes to taking pictures. So, in 2018 I really focused on learning how to use my cameras. Big thanks to my boyfriend who knows a lot more about the technical side of cameras and has showed me a lot. Along with improving my photography skills I also wanted to improve my thumbnails. Think I failed that one as I hardly uploaded and my thumbnails haven’t really improved so there is a challenge for myself.

2019: Goal One
I’ve always struggled with my mental health and to some extent I have been open and shared that. But, in 2019 I want to work on my mental health more. A key part of this is mindfulness.
I was kindly gifted by Tori in our Christmas box swap a Mindfulness book and I have set myself the challenge of reading a page a day. Being aware of myself and focusing on my thoughts is something I hope will help my anxiety and awareness of it.
2019: Goal Two
Do what I want to do. I am the first to admit that whatever decision I make the first thing I think about is the repercussions but also what other people will think of me. Now, I don’t think that’s a bad thing but also it isn’t a good thing. Sometimes my decisions are made by what I think others will think. Well no more! 2019 I want to make decisions based on my feelings and opinions.
So, watch this space because this is my little place on the internet and it is going to be full of everything I want it to be full of!
2019: Goal Three
I would love to put my all into 2019. When I want I can be quite organised but I can also be very lazy! So, I have control of 2019 and I’m 100% dedicated to making this the year I chase my dreams. So, you can expect new blog posts every Monday, Wednesday and Sunday as well as YouTube videos on these days and Instagram posts and maybe even a couple of IGTV videos as well!
Who knows there may even be a couple more surprises along the way too!
2019: Goal Four
Self care is so important and is something so basic but I still manage to forget. I am dedicating an hour every Sunday for a little pamper session. A full body care in the shower, I’m talking body scrub, wash, hair treatment then a face mask. Maybe a read of a book whilst laying in bed then a hot chocolate too. You can’t beat a hot chocolate!
Dedicating an hour to myself makes such a difference in myself. An hour where my mind can switch off.
2019: Goal Five
I’m not sure this is a goal, more of a choice. But, in 2019 I’m going to let it take its course. No, I will do this, I will achieve this I’m just seeing what 2019 will bring for me.
